Reserve League Division 1
We had a well earned victory in Donaghmoyne on Sunday last, with a final score line of 0-16 to 0-8. Although we were missing a few key players, the team worked hard and fully deserved their victory. Next match is on Sunday evening at home to Scotstown at 7pm.
 
Senior League
Our second game in the senior league takes place this Saturday evening against the Harps in Rooskey at 7.15pm.
 
Reserve League Division 3
This team were due to play Aghabog yesterday evening, Wednesday. Result in next week’s notes. The match due to be played on Monday next, 14th April has been refixed and will probably take place a week later.
 
Minors
The minor team got the year off to a good start on Tuesday evening in Killeevan when they defeated Emmett Sarsfields, a Killeevan/Aghabog combination. They played St. Pat’s on Tuesday gone by (Clontibret were beaten 0-14 to 1-6) and their next match is next Tuesday away to Carrick.
 
U16 League
Our u16s lost out to Truagh on Friday evening last by 4 points. We played well throughout but were unlucky to concede a goal in the dying minutes of the game. Our next match is tomorrow evening, Friday at home against Magheracloone at 7pm.
 
U14
The u14 team played Carrick on Tuesday evening last. A short report will be included in next week’s notes. They play ‘Blayney on Saturday, 19th April at 4pm in Clontibret.
 
U12
No match last week. We play Clones on Saturday at home at 4pm. All players should assemble at the pitch at 3.15pm.
 
Sympathy
The club would like to extend sympathy to the family of the late Bridget McSkeane who passed away last week. Her late husband Jack was a noted club member and worker for many years. Ar dheis De go raibh a n-anam.
 
Child Protection Training Courses
A basic awareness course in Code of Ethics and Good Practice in Children’s Sport will take place in two venues in Monaghan in the coming weeks; Thursday 24th April at Cassandra Hand Centre, Clones (6.30pm-10.30pm); Thursday 1st May at Farney Workhouse, Carrickmacross (6.30pm-10.30pm). The fee is €10 per person and places must be booked by contacting the Monaghan Sports Partnership Office on 0429755126. All those interested should take note and make an effort to attend.
