U14 Clontibret 1-6; Castleblayney 0-9 Clontibret u14’s got a deserved draw on Saturday last against a good Faughs outfit. Darren Mc Donald had an excellent game in goals with some excellent catches and intelligent clearances. In what was a good all round defensive display Daire McKeown worked hard at full back with good support from Sean Smith and Kevin Duffy. Clontibret dominated most exchanges at midfield where Brian Greenan and Conor Lavelle had a good hour. In attack Liam Savage tried hard and was supported by Michael Paul O’Dowd and Killian McDonald, who had his best game so far. Marty Moen did well when introduced but it was substitute James Lavelle who won the all important penalty, which was converted by Brian Greenan, and earned Clontibret a very valuable point. Team: D McDonald, S Smith, D McKeown, R McNally, G Brennan, C Carragher, K Duffy, B Greenan (1-0), C Lavelle(0-4), C Renaghan, L Savage( 0-2), K McDonald, M O Dowd, A Curran, M McAdam.
