Clontibret Club Notes

Sympathy
The club wishes to extend its sympathy to Robert and Rosaleen Kidney and family on the death of Rosaleen’s sister, May Tasker in Arney, county Fermanagh last week.

Senior League
Clontibret 1-15; Tyholland 1-3. Our senior team ran out convincing winners in their game against Tyholland on Saturday last. This was a good all round performance with some well taken scores and good defensive work. We played Magheracloone in the league yesterday evening. Result in next week’s notes. Our next outing is away to Inniskeen this Saturday evening at 7pm, followed by Scotstown on Wednesday evening at home at 7.15pm.

Reserve League Division 1
Clontibret 0-14; Truagh 1-07. The reserve team put in a good display to overcome a fancied Truagh side on Sunday evening, with a convincing win. The team played well together with many fine passing moves leading to excellent scores. Next game is on Wednesday, 14th May in Latton.

Reserve League Division 3
Clontibret 0-11, Aughnamullen 0-9. A narrow but well deserved win in Aughnamullen last Wednesday night. After a bad start, the team recovered well and did enough to shake off a late Aughnamullen challenge. The next game is away to Scotstown on Sunday evening at 7pm.

Minors
Clontibret 3-10; Sean McDermott’s 3-09. Our minors had an excellent victory over Sean’s on Tuesday of last week. This was a very hard fought match with the boys coming back from a 9 point half time deficit to win by the narrowest of margins. We were due to play Inniskeen on Tuesday gone by. Result in next week’s notes. [Inniskeen no show] Our next outing is in the championship on Tuesday next at home to Donaghmoyne at 7.15pm. It is important to come out in numbers to give the boys your support.

U16 Championship
Clontibret 0-07; Donghmoyne 1-03. Our u16s had an excellent one point victory over Donaghmoyne in the first round of the championship on Tuesday evening last. This was a real battling performance with the result in doubt right down to the last kick of the game. Great credit is due to the team who dug deep to come out with a victory. Our next game is a repeat of the championship pairing with Donaghmoyne, this time at home in the league, tomorrow evening, Friday, at 7pm.

U14
Our u14s are playing Donaghmoyne this Saturday in Donaghmoyne at 4pm.

U12
Clontibret 5-09; Eire Og 2-10. Our u12s played extremely well to overcome Eire Og by an 8 point margin on Saturday last. This was a tough, hard fought game and it took an excellent team performance to see off the Eire Og challenge. Our goalkeeper and backs defended tenaciously throughout, while the midfield pairing worked tirelessly all over the field. Up front the forwards picked off some excellent scores, including some well taken goals. Our next game is away to Killanny on Saturday, 10th May.

U8 & U10 Training
U8 and U10 training is starting next Friday, 9th May from 7pm-8pm. As there is generally quite a big turn out of both boys and girls for this training extra help is urgently needed. All parents and older brothers and sisters are encouraged to stay for the hour and lend a hand. Experience at coaching is not necessary to help out.

Juvenile Managers’ Meeting
An important meeting of all juvenile managers will take place in the clubrooms next Wednesday evening at 9pm. All managers are requested to attend, along with anybody else interested in helping out in the managing and running of the various juvenile teams. All help of any kind will be welcomed and appreciated.
