Clontibret Club Notes

Senior League
Clontibret 0-12, Magheracloone 2-8. A disappointing performance against Magheracloone on Wednesday evening last resulted in our first defeat of the year.  This was followed by a more heartening display in Inniskeen on Saturday, where we came away quite comfortable winners on a scoreline of Clontibret 3-09, Inniskeen 1-05. We played Scotstown yesterday evening, Wednesday. Result in next week’s notes. Our next game is a star game away to Latton on Saturday, 17th May at 7pm.

Reserve League Division 1
Next game is next Wednesday in Latton at 7.30pm.

Reserve League Division 3
Clontibret 0-05, Scotstown 3-11. A disappointing performance saw us well beaten on Sunday last against Scotstown. The absence of a number of key players took its toll and Scotstown were somewhat flattered by the eventual margin of victory. Our next outing is away to Sean’s on Monday evening at 7.30pm.

Minors
The match with Inniskeen last week wasn’t played due to Inniskeen not fulfilling the fixture. We played Donaghmoyne in the minor championship on Tuesday gone by. Result in next week’s notes. Our next league game is away to Carrick on Tuesday next at 7.30pm.

U16 League
Clontibret 1-18, Donaghmoyne 1-04. This was a more convincing victory over Donaghmoyne than in the recent championship game. The team played very well and picked off some excellent scores. Our next outing is this evening, Thursday, away to Monaghan Harps at 7pm.

U14
Clontibret 5-12, Donaghmoyne 3-10
Clontibret U14s travelled to Donaghmoyne and, in a very entertaining game, picked up two valuable points. Darren Mc Donald had another excellent game in goals. In defence Daire McKeown had a tremendous game at full back and was ably assisted by Raymond McNally, Conor Carragher and Gareth Brennan, who had a great second half when switched onto Donaghmoyne’s most dangerous player.

Both Liam Savage and Brian Greenan worked hard at midfield where they held the edge for the hour and gave ample supply to the forwards where Conor Lavelle had his best game and was well supported by Aodh Curran and Michael O Dowd.

Team: D McDonald, S Smith, D McKeown, R McNally, G Brennan, C Carragher, K Duffy, B Greenan , L Savage, A Curran, C Murphy, M O Dowd, C Renaghan, C Lavelle,  K McDonald, Subs: M Mone for K Duffy, P Murphy for C Ronaghan, M McAdam for S Smith, J Lavelle for M McAdam.  Next up is the Harps on Saturday, 17th May.

U12
Our u12s take on Killanny on Saturday in Killanny at 4pm.

U8 & U10 Training
U8 and U10 training starting tomorrow evening, Friday, from 7pm-8pm. All parents are encouraged to help out with the big numbers of young and enthusiastic players.
