Clontibret Club Notes

Senior League
Clontibret 2-07, Magheracloone 1-07. This was a good game in which everybody played their part in taking two valuable points from Magheracloone at their home ground. Goals from Brendan Óg Magennis and Conor McManus proved decisive in the end.

Clontibret 0-11, Monaghan Harps 2-03. A completely different type of game where we got the right result despite not playing up to scratch. Next game in the senior league is a Star Game in Tyholland on Saturday, July 12th.

Reserve Championship
The next game in the O’Duffy Cup takes place on Wednesday at home to Tyholland at 8pm. The Reserve C championship game against Aghabog is the following Wednesday evening.

Minor Championship
Our minors play Inniskeen in the championship next Tuesday evening at 7.45pm in Inniskeen. Good luck boys.

U16 Championship Semi-Final
Clontibret 3-11, Magheracloone 1-05. An excellent performance from our young stars with some excellent individual displays, helped see us through to the final against Truagh, to be played in mid-August. We play Scotstown in the league tomorrow evening, Friday in Scotstown at 7pm.

U14 League Semi-Final
Clontibret 3-07, Emyvale 3-03. Our u14s had an excellent win in the shield semi-final last week against Emyvale. We play Latton in the final on Saturday, July 19th.

U12 League
Clontibret 3-11, Latton 2-11. A disappointing result against Latton last Wednesday left us in a compromised position to qualify for the semi-finals although this is still possible. Training continues as usual.

GAA Cul Camp in Clontibret
The GAA Summer Camp will be held in Clontibret next week, beginning on Monday morning at 10am. The camp caters for both boys and girls from ages 5 to 14 years. A number of our senior stars will be coaching at the camps and all our local youngsters and encouraged to attend. Please come at 9.45am to allow time for registration if not already registered.

Go Games
Congratulations to all who took part in the Go Games last Saturday morning in Cloghan, and many thanks to all the helpers.

Sympathy
The club wishes to express sincere sympathy to the Haughey family, Tirmacmoe, on the death of Caroline. She was a bright light around the club on Friday nights and always had a smile and a chat for everyone. Despite her recent serious illness she remained cheerful and positive and will be sadly missed by all. Sympathy also to former player, Paddy McGlynn and family on the death of his daughter Sinead Fitzgerald in Naas.
