Clontibret Club Notes
Senior League Clontibret 0-14, Inniskeen 0-10. A good display in this Star Game with 14 points scored from play to keep us in contention for a semi-final place. Next league game is scheduled for 10th August when we visit Scotstown. O’Duffy Cup Clontibret 1-12, Scotstown 2-06. With both sides short a number of regulars and places in the quarter finals already secured, this was a very low key affair. We now await results in the other sections to see who our quarter final opponents will be. Reserve C Championship We played Toome on Wednesday evening last in the championship (Toome 0-6 - Clontibret 1-10). Minor League Clontibret 5-09, Latton 1-07. Our minors had a comprehensive win over Latton in the final league game last week, which should secure us a semi-final place. U16 League Semi-Final Clontibret 1-04 Truagh 2-09. Clontibret found the going tough against a strong Truagh team in the league semi-final on Friday last. Although we played reasonably well we couldn’t get through for the vital scores. We play the same opposition in the championship final on 15th August. Training continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Monaghan v Kerry Congratulations to the Monaghan team on their victory over Donegal on Saturday, and best wishes against Kerry in Croke Park on Sunday coming. Good luck especially to our Clontibret representatives John Paul, Dessie, Vinnie, Paul, Conor and Martin. Anyone who has ordered tickets through the club should collect them at the clubrooms on Friday evening from 8.30 to 9pm. U8 & U10 Training Our u8 and u10 team have a challenge match this evening Thursday against Truagh at 7pm. Good luck boys.
