Senior Championship
Clontibret 1-08 Latton 1-08. We struggled to find our form against Latton on Saturday last but managed to grind out a draw. We started very poorly and this continued throughout the first half, however a goal just at the stroke of half time left us one point up at the break. We played much better in the second half and seemed to take more control of the game, going one point up in injury-time, however Latton fought back and won a free with the last kick of the ball to level it. The replay takes place this Saturday at 3pm in ‘Blayney. Good luck again to the players and management.
 
O’Duffy Cup
Our semi-final due to be played on Wednesday against Carrick was cancelled due to the senior replay on Saturday.
 
Reserve C Championship
Clontibret 0-12, Corduff 0-10. After a tight and hard fought contest we emerged victorious by the small margin of two points. The issue was in doubt right up to the end, where we managed to get the couple of vital scores that secured victory. We now await the fixing of the final against Emyvale.
 
Minor Championship
Clontibret 1-07 Cremartin 1-09. The minors exited from this year’s championship by a narrow margin in a thrilling encounter against our neighbours in Cremartin on Monday evening. Despite being reduced to fourteen men for much of the match, our boys really brought the game to the division one side with a forceful display of football. They now concentrate on their league campaign.
 
U16 Championship Replay
Clontibret 1-06, Truagh 3-09. A disappointing performance from the team resulted in quite a heavy defeat at the hands of Truagh in this championship replay. The boys didn’t do themselves justice on the day, as the first game showed they were well fit to compete. Hard luck boys and well done on your effort all year, you have done us proud. Many thanks to Cathal Carragher, Mickey McSkeane and Rodney Gorman for their expertise and dedication to this team all year.
 
U13 League
Clontibret 2-15 Cremartin 5-06. Despite conceding a lot of goals our boys showed great grit and determination to come away with one point against Cremartin last Saturday. Overall we played well and definitely deserved a draw. Our game against Latton this weekend has been changed to Friday evening at 7pm in Latton due to the senior championship replay on Saturday.
 
Championship Fixtures
Intermediate championship games are fixed for O’Neill Park on Saturday evening at 6pm. Usual help required from 5pm.
