Clontibret Club Notes
Senior Championship Clontibret 1-08, Latton 0-10. A stroke of luck was the order of the day for us in Scotstown on Saturday last, when we bagged a goal in the dying moments of injury time to snatch a dramatic one point victory at the expense of Latton. As in the drawn game we didn’t play to our potential and struggled to get scores. We went in at the break 3 points down and didn’t take the lead in the whole game until the fourth minute of injury time thanks to Fergal Mone’s goal. This leaves us in the semi-final which is fixed to be played on the weekend of 27th/28th September. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Darach Mooney who sustained a knee injury during the Latton game. O’Duffy Cup The cancelled O’Duffy Cup semi-final against Carrick has been re-fixed for Saturday, 20th September in Blackhill at 2pm. Minor League Our minors face Latton in the league semi-final on Tuesday, 16th September at 6.15pm in Clontibret. Good luck to all involved. U13 League Our game against Latton due to be played last Friday was cancelled as a result of the pitch being unplayable. We play Inniskeen at home this Saturday. The game is fixed for 3pm but there is a possibility of a change of time. Please check with management. Congratulations to Killian Lavelle and Donal McElvaney who represented the club in the u12 skills competition recently. All-Ireland Tickets A draw for All Ireland football tickets for club members will take place in the clubrooms on Thursday, 25th September at 9.30pm. Championship Fixtures We host another double bill of championship fixtures this Saturday, starting at 4.15pm. Helpers please take note. Hurling Final Good luck to Clontibret hurlers who take on ‘Blayney in the senior championship final on Sunday.
