AGM
A very business like AGM was held on Sunday last, with minimum changes to the officer panel. The secretary, Frank McManus gave a long and detailed report of the year’s activities, while other reports included Treasurer Kieran Lavelle, Youth Officer Niall Malone and Coaching Officer Owen Joe McKeown.

In his address club Chairman Colm Gormley thanked all who worked for the club during the year, both on the front line and behind the scenes, and asked that all would continue to work together in the coming year.

One of the issues raised during proceedings was the difficulty in recruiting helpers and supervisors for juvenile training sessions. Youth Officer Niall Malone suggested that a rota of parents and others interested in club affairs be put in place and each person would be required to give one hour of their time per month. A short briefing session will take place for everybody interested before the commencement of the season.

Officers for the coming year are as follows: President: Jim Woods, Vice President: Seamus Lavelle, Chairman: Colm Gormley, Secretary: Frank McManus, Treasurer: Kieran Lavelle, Asst Secretary: Peadar Hughes, Asst Treasurer: Mickey McSkeane, PRO: Kathy McManus, Registrar: Thomas Greenan, Coaching Development Officer: Owen Joe McKeown, Players’ Officer: Vincent Corey, Youth Officer: Niall Malone.

The positions of Vice Chairman and Oifigeach Gaeilge were left vacant and will be filled in the coming weeks. The Chairman thanked outgoing Vice Chairman Paddy Morgan for his contribution over the past seven years.

Congratulations to senior team captain Paul McGuigan who was announced Player of the Year for 2008 as a result of a vote among the players at the end of the season.
